AI Gave Incorrect Information

It quoted the wrong price, hours or service.

On this page

Your receptionist quoted the wrong price, gave the wrong hours, or said you do something you don’t. Every one of these traces to a detail in Business Config, and fixing it once fixes it permanently.

The short version

  1. 1

    Open the call

Find it in Conversations and read the transcript.

  2. 2

    Copy the exact sentence

The specific words, not an impression of them.

  3. 3

    Trace it to its card

Use the table below. Every wrong sentence has exactly one source.

  4. 4

    Change that detail and save

Applies on the next call. No publish step, no waiting.

  5. 5

    Ring in and confirm

Ask the same question. Ten seconds, and you know it’s fixed.

Fix it

A real one

CallerAre you open Saturdays?
Your receptionistWe're open Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm. I can book you Monday morning.
CallerBut I've used you on a Saturday before.

Source: Hours. Fix: add Saturday 8am–1pm and save. Twenty seconds, and every future caller who asks gets offered a Saturday.

Change one thing at a time

Change five details at once and you won’t know which fixed it, or which broke something else. One change, one test call.

Why it happened

Your receptionist doesn’t invent answers. It answers from what you’ve told it, so a wrong answer means one of three things:

The detail was out of date
Your prices moved, or you started working Saturdays, and the config didn't follow. The most common cause by far.
The detail was never entered
It filled a gap with the closest thing it had. Add the missing detail.
Two sources disagree
A price in Services and a different one in an uploaded price list. Make them match.

It should say when it doesn't know

Asked something genuinely absent, the correct behaviour is “a person will follow up”, not a guess. If it’s confidently stating things that aren’t in your config at all, send us the call.

If it keeps happening

Almost always two sources disagreeing. Check whether the same fact appears in Services, an FAQ, and an uploaded document under Grounding & Knowledge. Update all of them.

That’s a gap rather than an error. Add the missing FAQs, or upload the reference material it needs. Search your transcripts for “someone will follow up” to find them all at once.

Send us the call time and number. That’s not expected behaviour and we want to see it.

Checked all three sources and it’s still wrong?

Send us the date and time of the call. We can read the transcript and tell you which source the wrong answer actually came from, which is usually the hard part.
